Every wedding, I ask the groom about the details: his watch, the cufflinks, the lining of the jacket, the way he tied the tie. There’s almost always a story. A watch from his father. Cufflinks he bought himself the morning he proposed. A pin from his grandfather’s lapel. Grooms don’t have the obvious. What they have is smaller and quieter, a few objects, maybe a scent, a few decisions only they know the meaning of.
