I used to think Venice was… overrated. We went so I used to think Venice was… overrated.
We went so often when I was little that it became “Venice again?” just another weekend, just another trip across the border.

Now I see it completely differently.
When people ask where I grew up, I often say “near Venice” it’s the easiest way to place it. I’m Slovenian, just 15 minutes from the Italian border, speaking Italian… so Italy was always part of my world.

I’ve been back more times than I can count. Walked it slowly, visited the Biennale, seen it in different seasons, different moods. Somewhere along the way, it became a place I deeply connect to: the light, the stillness, the feeling of getting lost and not wanting to be found.

It holds a special place in my heart, not just for how it looks, but for how long it’s been part of my story ♥️

Who’s been here from the beginning?
And for those Who’s been here from the beginning?
And for those who just found me - hi.

Let me tell you: this journey didn’t start with a plan.

My very first wedding was my cousin’s, sometime around 2004. I remember being completely fascinated with the photographer - the way he moved, the way he took his time, the way he made moments feel intentional. And then the album. Wowza! Leather, heavy, permanent. I didn’t know it then, but something stayed with me.

A few years later, my brother gifted me my first camera. I took it everywhere. After school, my friends and I would shoot endlessly from small ideas, made-up fashion, learning light without knowing what we were really building.

At 16, I photographed my first wedding.
I wasn’t ready. I just said yes to a friend of a friend and had absolutely no idea that this would become my career, my path.

From there, it grew quietly.
In different countries. Different chapters. Starting over more than once.

Over time, the work changed too.
Film slowed me down. Travel expanded everything.
Running taught me discipline. Life in Zürich gave me perspective.

Reflecting right now, it was never one big moment. Just small decisions, repeated over time, believing that this is the right path for me.
15 years in, still becoming and still curious about what’s next ♥️

I love firsts. That was my first Scottish wedding I love firsts. That was my first Scottish wedding and they tied the knot in the Swiss mountains - quite literally.

She, Swiss and he, Scottish.
And somehow, it all came together so effortlessly with kilts, bagpipers and Scottish whisky, and traditions, but set in the Swiss mountains, in Lenzerheide.

This is what I love most. Where worlds meet, and it just feels right. I feel incredibly honoured to witness and photograph cultures different from my own and discover amazing traditions all over the world.

Some of my favorite frames from last season, all c Some of my favorite frames from last season, all captured on film.

Shooting weddings with my @leica_camera M6 has become a quiet ritual within the day. Film slows me down. It asks for intention, patience, and trust in your eye.

In a world of instant previews and thousands of digital frames, film brings me back to something more instinctive and artistic. I shoot less, but I see more.

And then comes the beautiful surprise and receiving the scans weeks later and rediscovering moments I photographed almost purely on feeling. The grain, the softness, the way light wraps around people… it always feels a little magical ✨

I often encourage couple portraits to become that I often encourage couple portraits to become that quiet pause in the day - a moment to breathe, to laugh, to look at each other and realize: we actually did it.

Sometimes it’s a short walk, sometimes a classic car ride away from the crowd. Just a few minutes where the timeline slows down and the day settles in.

With these two, they even stopped by the reception before anyone else arrived. Walking through the space together, seeing everything ready for the evening ahead: calm, intimate, and somehow one of the most beautiful moments of the day.

The wedding coffee table book is the final chapter The wedding coffee table book is the final chapter and the one I’m most proud of 💛

Last week, I handed this beauty to Chrissie & Josh. Heavy. Textured. Unapologetically bold.
Their wedding was filled with vibrant yellow florals, personality in every detail, and zero interest in anything cliché. So the book had to feel the same: confident, joyful and impossible to ignore.

Seeing their photographs printed large, laid out across full spreads, is something screens will never compete with. Digital is convenient, but print is legacy.

Luxury Destination Wedding in Switzerland

This bridesmaids portrait was taken inside the gil This bridesmaids portrait was taken inside the gilded rooms of Palácio de Queluz in Lisbon, a setting that already carries centuries of history. A setting that already feels like it belongs to another century. With a bride in Dolce & Gabbana Couture, the atmosphere carried a quiet, almost Bridgerton-like romance.

When couples travel across the ocean to marry in Europe, the setting becomes part of their legacy. It deserves to be seen, not just used as a backdrop.
This portrait was carefully structured to honour both: the women and the palace. The scale of the room. The symmetry. The gold reflecting light in every direction. It wasn’t the easiest space to work in, but when intention meets trust, the result feels effortless.

A modern wedding, perhaps. But for a moment, it felt like a scene from another era.
